Patys Restaurant, Toluca Lake

Could this be???

Yes it was Bob of Bob's Big Boy Fame!

The ORIGINAL one too...but we were not eating there...

As much as I would have wanted to for the retro effect...

Loved the use of the Bob statue in the first "Austin Powers" movie, heh heh.

Instead, this sign was calling our name:

They have a big parking lot so you won't have to deal with street parking. Apparently this is a very popular place among the stars as well as people who seek the stars.  For the record, we did not see anyone "famous" that day. The clientele was a mix of locals and tourists (like us), and who knows who else, perhaps budding actors/comedians, musicians, etc. The walls of Patys (no apostrophe for some reason) is filled with photographs of their famous patrons.

It is so old shcool in here. Love the desserts under the glass domes. That's a good thing, unless you enjoy ingesting fly fecal matter.

This was the hallway near the bathroom.

We sat in a smaller room with less photos on the walls. I took this photo after it had cleared out. It was packed when we arrived actually. Our servers were so very nice especially our fab-u-lous waiter.

You can see the menu online here:

Our lunch:

Tuna Melt with coleslaw - Bert's.

Garden Patty melt with fries - TC's.

BLT Combo - Mine. It was half a sandwich with potato salad and a green salad with dressing on the side.

Nothing earth shattering or gourmet. Just regular food. I kind of wished I had a full sandwich because I was still hungry.

Pickles consumed by the teen and her dad.

More seating outside!

Patys was a fun place to stop. It was incredible busy but the service was fast, efficient, fun, and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food at all.

It was only a matter of a few more hours before arriving home...

We had a great Spring Break trip and were excited to have seen so fun and interesting sights (like the Yoda statues!), many for free!. We also enjoyed the eateries and coffee and dessert places visited as well and would definitely consider a return visit to the Sonoma area in the future.
