A ten minute walk encompassing the five blocks from our hotel to downtown was all it took...
where we could enjoy coffee at this popular local shop (another locations are in Santa Rosa and SF) across the street from the Historical Museum.
Within walking distance, the St. Vincent de Paul Church (built in 1926). It was shown for a few minutes in a movie that I'm not too fond of but it features Sharon Stone and her uh, you know what. Yeah, THAT movie. Google it. By the way, it's lovely in this church.
More movie locations such as this three story Victorian the outer edge of downtown Petaluma. This entire movie was filmed here; it featured a very young Katherine Turner, before she became known as Chandler Bing's father in "Friends" (he was a drag queen), Nic Cage and Jim Carrey in one of his first movie roles)

Before we left downtown, we picked up a few hand pies here.
Sadly, the pie that TC thought was tuna was something else entirely (it was bagged by an employee and she obviously got the wrong one).
One of TC's picks for the day was visiting a local farm where we bought some produce for lunch and dinner...
along with visiting a local wildlife preserve. Two mile walk anyone?
This was a memorable lunch (the cheese bits are from the cheese factory we visited the other day). Christmas plates courtesy of yours truly.
Bert was happy to finally try some beers at Lagunitas. His six beer taster (or flight) consisted mainly of the seasonal/special beers that are hard to find down here.
Dinner later was take out from a nearby Turkish eatery.
No fancy stuff for us. I think the fanciest meal we had was from our first night here.
Farewell to Petaluma and Sonoma County. We hope to visit here again and explore more of the other towns in the area (including Napa). Tomorrow would be a whirlwind day. I have us getting up super early to beat the rush. This particular spot in Mill Valley is quite popular but we HAD to get there WAY before the hordes of tourists arrive...
