Earlier today, I went to Northgate for the first time. This is Gonzalez Northgate Market in west Chula Vista on the corner of 3rd and Naples.... (I was at a red light when I took this photo).
I'd been wanting to go here forever. It's past this intersection and near the old K-Mart.
There it is....
I didn't take any interior shots but the place is really nice inside. There are different sections as you walk in. To the right is the bakery, tortillas, ready made salsas, dips, chips, the meat counter (meat and seafood). The middle of the store is the pre-packaged items. The left of the store are the fresh produce.
I bought chicken fajitas, Pacifico beer (for Bert and our neighbor for tonight's Mexican themed dinner) which I didn't even get carded for, salsa, pickled carrots, guacamole, sour cream, radishes, mini corn tortillas, and sodas. We have arrachera (flank) meat marinating right now at home. Bert will grill that up later this afternoon and we'll make tacos out of that and the marinated chicken. The photo below was majorly cropped because my front window is so dirty - there was a disgusting bird splat right above the sign.
The view facing west onto 3rd from the Northgate lot. I can't believe that Long John Silver is still there. You know, I have only eaten there once when Bert took me when we were in highschool. He had a buy one get one free coupon. That was at least 25 years ago. Must've been junior year because he was driving by then.
There was so much traffic that I couldn't make a left. So I went the opposite direction and decided what the hell, I'll go to Hogetsu.
Before I get to the Hogetsu pix, here's a fewof the drinks I bought from Northgate for TC and the neighbor girls. TC hijacked the photo by crouching down like a "knuckle dragging monkey" and making an exaggerated overbite while making caveman noises. Nice.
