Return to M-Theory

We thought we'd check out the used record and cd place up on Washington St.

I hadn't been here in awhile and we were both curious to see what they had in their racks...

I was hoping they would have their buy one get one free sale like last time, but...

From the vaults...

About a week and a half ago, my car battery died. When the battery was replaced, my radio station pre-sets were messed up. Like way messed up. I can't even listen to my favorite stations (105.3, 101.5, 1007. and 98.9). Although I have a bunch of self-burned cd compilations, I thought it would be good to take out my old cd's out of retirement...

Pay no attention to the dirty seat cushions...

Sadly, my CD collection had been languishing in our bedroom media cabinet. It was time to give these a whirl once again and see why I loved these albums in the first place...

M- Theory Revisited

After our small sushi lunch, we headed up for dessert. But first, we stopped by Mission Hills so I could check out M-Theory once again. I was just there a few nights ago for Paul Horn's book signing for "Cool Jerk". Since I spent the majority of my time yakking to Darlene and Paul, I didn't have much chance to really peruse their stuff. The sweltering and hair withering 100+ heat was upon us as we hastily shoved quarter after quarter into the parking meter.

I ended up buying a couple of CD's. They actually had a sale, "Buy one used CD, get one FREE" - so hell to the fkg yeah, I was going to find myself 2 CD's come hell or high water! By golly, by gum!

TC on the other hand, was not as enthused about being in M-Theory as I was. There was no (gasp!) Justin Bieber here or Camp Rock stuff (thank God!) or (cringe) Jonas Brothers. As hard as I am trying tocontrol, train,*cough*influence* her musical tastes, I must grudgingly accept the fact that she is her own person and will like music to piss of her parents just like I did when I was a kid. Except mine was vaguely satanic heavy metal and misognyistic hard rock and hers is sanitized Disney shit. I think every child should be raised Disney free, or at least Hannah Montana free. Why oh why can't she just like harmless and family friendly bands like Slayer and Megadeth??????

So, while I was scouring the used CD bins, she ended up seeing several CD and LP albums with the F-word as well as male and female frontal nudity. Nice. How's that for an eye opening and educational experience for ya. There was also a CD we saw with the band name of "The Test Icicles" but from far away, it looked like "The Testicles". (Cue Beavis and Butthead laughter here)

OMG, it's the Sausage King store! Dennis from A Radiused Corner just blogged about this place!

Love this sign!!!! I must go here when it's open next time!!!! They also have a menu item called, "Meat Salad"!!!

And here's what I think of when I hear the words "Sausage King" (and please get your mind out of the gutter, I will not be featuring a porno clip featuring John Holmes):

"I weep for the future!" Haha, I remembering nearly pissing my pants when watching that movie years ago with Astroboi and N! "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" never gets old!

And check this out:  Here's a seemignly mock "vintage" Abe Froman commercial...Apparently, Abe Froman must be a real person! Or NOT!!!!!!

Here's the exterior of M-Theory. If you were an attentive reader, you already saw the interior shots in my previous post on M-Theory a mere few days ago.

Here are the cd's I bought, The Smiths' "Louder than Bombs" (music to mope to) and Brian Setzer's "Ignition" (very cool driving music). The red table is courtesy of Donut Star (next post).

Doood, it was so fkg hawt so we headed over to get some shave ice up the street...

Post Script - Just so you won't think I'm a terrible parent, I hope you all realize I'm just kidding about Slayer....

but not Megadeth!
