Marnee Thai, Outer Sunset

From the Presidio to the Sunset District...

where we would finally have a square meal after having been to so many places since the crack of dawn...

Marnee Thai has two locations in the Sunset; this happened to be in the Outer Sunset and was chose by TC for our lunch spot.

Yes to everything.

Lots of native decor here plus Christmas lights!

Even though it was lunch, we were able to order the #7 Corn Cakes from the dinner menu.

We also ordered the coconut stir-fried rice noodles with prawns.

plus the Avocado salad (again with prawns), the fried fish cake...

and the #44, Prawns and Scallops Pad Phong Ka Ree.

This was that dish with prawns and scallops (the curry sauce was so flavorful):

The coconut rice noodles was also a great choice. The shrimps were juicy and plump.

The avocado salad with mango and prawns. We liked the texture from the cashew nuts and coconut as well as the mango.

Every time I see Thai fish cakes on the menu, Tod Mun Pla, I order it. It was a bit on the spicy side for TC but Bert and I really enjoyed it.  Of course, this was a lot of food and most of it ended up being our dinner later that evening. We were too tired to even go out.

I almost forgot the corn cakes (also known as corn fritters on other menus).  The chopped cucumber relish was delicious as well. These were really good. The patties were on the larger side and one was already quite filling.  All of this rich food with sauces and fried goodness ended up taking its toll later. Yeah. I know.

Sadly, the corn cakes were not as crisp later on.
