It's been about three weeks since our trip to the Central Coast...

we debated whether to do it or not, but wanderlust won out...

25th Anniversary dinner at Lunada Garden Bistro, Cayucos

I am going to jump around with my posts and the timeline a bit...why? Because I can dammit.

Bert and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary this year and took a family road trip to the Central Coast.

Instead of doing sad ass takeout and eating it in our room out of styrofoam containers...

After our short stop at Beacon Coffee Co. in Ventura,

As much as we enjoyed our trip to Ventura the previous year, we needed to move on....

Spring Break Road Trip 2016 Day 7 - Gilroy & Paso Robles + vintage signs in LA

In the wee hours of the morning, before the sun was even out...

we left our favorite motel in SF (THE first one!) and headed south...

TC wanted to stay in the room while we did this event...

The Peddler's Faire

The "Peddler's Faire" sign caught our attention...

It was a stone's throw away from the Cass House...

and gosh darnit, the fog was rolling back in but we didn't care. We wanted to check out this curiously named event...

We noticed this on our way in...

and definitely made a stop back before they closed for the day..

Summer Road Trip 2015 - Day 9: Spearhead Coffee

Centennial Park in the morning...

Cleaned up completely from the previous night's concert and festivities. As we walked from our car to the coffee shop, we recognized one of the waitresses from Yanagi Sushi sitting on a nearby park bench.

We were up early for our morning coffee at Spearhead, a relatively new coffee shop in town...

Bert had a craving for Japanese food...

saw that Yanagi Sushi was located near the town square...

Return to Paso Robles - Adelaide Inn + concert at Centennial Park

We finally arrived at our hotel, the Adelaide Inn, which is right off the 46/

It was super super hot, as in 95+ F hot.  After checking in, and being offered fresh fruit and cookies in the lobby (nice!)...

we dumped all of our stuff in the room to relax a bit before heading out to downtown...

and then I send it to La Ley who gets a kick out of it...

We were off at 6:30 am...

before the sun was even out...

Summer Road Trip 2014 Day 5 - Ostrich Land USA, Solvang

The fifth day of our Central Coast summer trip took us south to Solvang...

No, we weren't here to see the town. Been there and done that. Plus old people galore.

No, we were here to stop at a roadside attraction that was definitely on the quirky (dare I say tourist-trappy) side...

Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Lab, Arroyo Grande

In the Central Coast, there are three Doc Burnstein's locations: San Luis Obispo, Orcutt and here, in Arroyo Grande...

In fact, this location is the flagship store and it is located in their charming downtown business district...

Downtown Arroyo Grande

Arroyo Grande's main street is East Branch Street...

where there are many old buildings housing mom and pop businesses, eateries, and cute shops...

Windmill Farms

Just before hitting the town of Arroyo Grande, we went here first...

it's a farm on the outskirts of Arroyo Grande, near the Nipomo border. You can see the giant rooster off the 101 freeway.

The place is called Windmill Farms and I just HAD to see that giant rooster up close...

Just look at this beach...

it was one of the most pristine beaches we'd ever seen...

The Swiss Restaurant & Bar

After dropping off our luggage and personal  effects at our hotel, we headed out to dinner..

and since this was Santa Maria, land of tri-tip bbq, we headed to a local steakhouse...

Back to Pismo we were...

next to The Scoop where TC enjoyed a cone several years ago...

Our lunch @ Dinosaur Caves Park

As we drove up Price Street (one of the main streets) to get to the 101 North, we passed by the only Filipino store on the Central Coast, De Bu of Pismo Beach.

We'd been there three years ago but didn't stop during this trip...

As you can see, it was pretty foggy!

Bert read up on one of the newer parks in the area and though it would be a nice spot to have our lunch...
