Return to Marco Polo Ice Cream

Yes, it was the return to Marco Polo Ice Cream...

I noticed that formerly dead patch in front had now sprouted grass...

It seemed the same guy working there (the one who was absorbed in his smart phone during the moments when he wasn't scooping ice cream) was there once again.

Nothing had changed. Flavors were the same (awesome!) along with the prices.

If I lived here, I'd get this flavor ALL OF THE TIME.

Arcoboleno (vanilla, pistachio, almond and chocolate) - This has got to be one of the best flavor combinations we've had. We liked it so much last time, we had it again.  Every flavor was quite distinct.

Mocha chip - This one we liked as well because, mocha I like my ice cream flavors to have "stuff" in it (namely nuts, chips or fruit but not candy crap like gummy worms, bears, or sprinkles). It's a texture thing, eh.

Hello grass patch.

I liked the name of this place. Sounds like it could be the name of a movie, "The Curse of the 8 Immortals" or something like that.

OMG, there IS actually a movie with this name!

It came out in 1971! Here is the synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes:

"The supernatural thriller Eight Immortals cinematizes an ancient and widely-held myth in Chinese culture - dating back to the 10th century - that speaks of an octet of spiritual warriors, eternally immune to death. All have avowed to fight for the good and benefit of mankind, and stand opposed to evil. As the story opens, the warriors learn that a band of demons led by a bloodthirsty vampire is devouring innocent peasants. The Eight thus lead a band of renegade heroes to put an end to this terror, slaying every demon in sight, and subsequently embark on a full-scale netherworld invasion, launching an apocalyptic war of good vs. evil."

You can also watch the whole damn movie on youtube here (one hour and a half of yer time yo').

Well now.

Previous visit to Marco Polo Ice Cream:
October 2014 (posted; but visited that summer)

While Bert and I liked our cups, TC didn't really like the flavors plus she still had her mango smoothie from Mellow's Cafe.

There was one more planned stop (and another which ended up being an impulse stop) before we took the streetcar back to the motel...
