a Turkish/Russian restaurant next to the "Nude Girls" sign on Main Street...

What better place to explore a Russian eatery/bakery on one of the main streets...

Ther ewere several places on our radar, like Europa Plus...

In this strip mall with random businesses was our lunch destination...

No, not Mama Hong's, but the deli of Russian persuasion...

I almost missed this one last "date night" from a few months ago...

This is near National City Blvd and 8th...If you make a right at the condo high rises you will hit Big Ben Specialty Market and to the left on "A" Avenue is Neiderfranks...

That particular evening, we took Main which is parallel to the 5...

A few weekends ago, I got a call from Wandering Chopsticks if we could meet up for lunch...

We meant to meet up earlier this year but our schedules didn't quite match up but this time, the stars were in aligment. Remembering she hadn't tried Georgian cuisine yet, I suggested Kafe Sobaka over in Golden Hill...

At the corner of C and Broadway, you could see the cool sign and the adjacent reflection of the Turf Supper Club. If you go further north on Broadway, you will hit Pizzeria Luigi and Krakatoa. But no, weren't in a Pizza or sandwich mood...

A few months ago when we were driving down Main St. trying to find this random Filipino bakery...

The bold colors of these storefronts caught my eye...as well as the "Nude Girls" sign on topof the red building.

The green one had an interesting sign...

which I initially thought read as "Dessert Cafe". I thought this was a rather odd area to have a dessert place, especially near the nekkid chicks/smoke shop/adult emporium.

I went a bit nuts trying to look it up but the internet searches did not yield any establishments named "Dessert Cafe" in this part of town...

Our attempt to visit Mike's Movie Madness was a bust. It was still too early in the morning. KDB needed to get some stuff done for work so he suggested that we drop him off and pick him up in  a hours. We had some to kill so I asked Bert if we could check out this Russian place we passed by on the way to KDB's:

Elegant? I noticed that there were quite a few ethnic eateries and bakeries along this particular stretch of road...

After getting that humongoloid tray of baklava from King of Nablus Sweets, we headed over to La mesa where we had dinner here...

D never had Ukrainian/Russian food before and I definitely wanted to try the stroganoff this time...
