My original plan for the day after New Year's Day was to watch the Rose Parade on TV...

Since NYD fell on a Sunday, the Parade itself was held the following Monday, which was yesterday.

Bert and I had another free morning. TC was out doing sports practice and Bert had the DVR set to record two different channels for the Rose Parade...

The striped awnings with a cute stylized happy baker on it lured me in like the Millenium Falcon to the Death Star's massive tractor beam...

Bert already knew from the look on my face that we would have to go in...

We made out way to the OB Pier straight from Niagara Ave.

We'd always gone up from below, walking on the sand and up the steps.

Because of that, we never saw this informational placard until that day...

The Coffee Method

After keeping our leftovers in the car in our trusty cooler (I don't leave home without it, especially if we are eating or shopping for groceries somewhere)...

we headed down the street to get to our coffee spot, The Coffee Method.

We'd tried a few coffee places in OB before and this was one one my list we'd been meaning to try....

at a restaurant that we walked into thinking it was the same one we to in April for my birthday (it wasn't)...
