I'm kinda jumping all over the place trying to get some old posts out, eh?
After checking out the very beautiful Bridal Veil Falls in Kagawong, we got back into the van and headed over to a place that C raves about...The Manitoulin Chocolate Works!
There's nothing that spells icy cold refreshment on a blazing hot day than having some, uh, chocolate...
What to get....
Lots of choices...
Hmm, I see they have Cadbury chocolate there (middle shelf). Not a fan of Cadbury's. Their chocolate tastes wierd to me.
I ended up getting a few candies; some to eat right then and there and a few to bring back to San Diego. I was worried that they'd melt that day...
TC got this atrociously attractive candy thing - it's a bunch of gummy candies on a stick. Like a candy kabob. The verdict? She loved it! It had sour gummy worms, sour peach candies, a gummy bear or two. I was thoroughly disgusted.
Shit, this was so long ago (June) that I don't even remember what this was. As you can see, it's half eaten. It might've been one of Bert's and if it was, it probably had caramel or coffee in it.
TC also got a fruit flavored candy stick - luckily it didn't ruin her braces.
Okay, I remember this - the Dark Mint Meltaway which had coconut sprinkles on top. This was pretty good. Bert and I shared this one.
And speaking of coconut, here's a coconut bar which Bert shared with TC.
I bought these as gifts, but you know what? I caved and ended up opening those damn espresso beans for myself. I have no self-control whatsoever. I was intrigued by the maple-blueberry flavor. Kind of a strange combination in my opinion, with the bitterness of the coffee beans offset by the wierd flavor combo. C once sent us a few of the Chocolate Caramel Waves which I liked so I got a few for back home. That toffee was also good (didn't eat it until we got home) - you could really taste the butter in the toffee.
As if we hadn't eaten enough candy yet, here's yet another bonbon thing which I don't remember the flavor. Just take my word that it was super good and super sweet. I think I just got a cavity merely looking at this.
This was the Bear Claw - which was a chocolate covered caramel patty with cashews for the "claws". C once sent us one of these so I wanted to get a few for back home as well.

And before signing off, I am currently viewing my Smiths Collection DVD and one of my favorite videos (and songs) is on, "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" which was a single from their 1987 album, "Strangeways Here We Come". Unfortunately the video cannot be embedded (the feature is disabled). The video features Morrissey riding a bike all over Manchester (his hometown) along with dozens of other Morrissey lookalikes with close cropped hair with a quiff, black or horned rimmed glasses with jeans, boots and a workshirt.
Trivia alert! The video also features the brick rowhouses and buildings in town as well as the iconic Salford Lads Club on the corner of St Ignatius Way and Coronation Street in Salford, Manchester. This is also the same building that the Smiths posed in front of for their classic 1986 albu, "The Queen is Dead". The Salford Lads Club building is considered a "must see" for many Smiths fans. It also featured in the music video for The Dream Academy's "Life in a Northern Town" (sucky song, that).
