of East County that is. TC had an appointment out here but before we went...
I saw that a Thai place, was nearby. In fact, it was Thai Time, which used to have Thai Time II in Point Loma (now defunct). I saw online that there is also a Thai Time in North Park (not sure if they are affiliated) and a Thai Time in downtown San Diego. There is also a Thai Time III in Clairemont. Maybe this is just a VERY common name for a Thai place?
The restaurant was in this strip mall, Johnson Center. Most of the spaces were occupied, but we found one near this mural. It was still the tail end of lunch hour.

There were a lot of folks waiting in line to pick up their takeout. I didn't want to wait, and nobody greeted us or offered us a place to sit, so I told the guy at the counter that we were here to dine in and then we sat down. Service was not really that great here. There was a long wait for them to even get to us because so many people had ordered their takeout and were there to pick it up. This was the crappiest part of our meal. The food itself was good though.

It's small inside and their Thai decor is on maximum overdrive. Lots of ornate wooden carvings, elephant decor, tapestries, Thai figures and such. Less is more was not what they had in mind here. But points for the very very cute FOX salt and pepper shakers! I noticed no other tables had them!

Can you guess what TC had? We were boring and got the lunch specials. I was afraid to order the bbq chicken (on their specialtie's page) because I didn't want us to be late for TC's appointment.

#49 was not to be today. Or ever. I don't think we'll be going back here.

Cool wooden plaques on the bathroom door.

Sour and spicy soup that came with our lunch special. I am not too fond of this flavor and ended up just eating the vegetables. Plus it was kind of spicy and yeah. Didn't want to uh....suffer.

Our lunch specials - I had the spicy noodles with shrimp (they had six big and plump skrimps in there).

TC's Pad Thai with tofu.

It was a pretty generous portion and we definitely had leftovers to bring home. The specials came with a triangular cream cheese wonton and a pedestrian fried roll, along with a salad with peanut dressing.

The service was harried since there were only two people working the front. Not sure how many cooks they had back there. It died down by the time we left.

Maybe if we didn't go during the peak lunching hour, our experience wouldn't have been so rushed. The good thing is, we were able to make the appointment with time to spare but ended up having to deal with yucky traffic on the way back home on the 8 and 125.
