I noticed new shapes for some of their paletas. Turns out those are the new flavors, which are layered.

RIP Mr. Andrade.
Nephew was so generous - he paid for all of our desserts. My nephew cuts hair and charges for his services. He can style guys' hair with those "fades", touching up "line ups" and even shaving designs. He even has a real barber chair at his dad's garage. His friends and customers DM him for haircuts and industrious nephew saves his money to help pay for his gas money and expenses for sports.
This was his cup - a scoop of strawberry on top and on the bottom, banana.

TC's strawberry with cream (strawberry fruit with vanilla) on top and birthday cake on the bottom (it had a lot of sprinkles on it; she said it was way too sweet). That's my ugly hand by the way, not my lovely daughter's.
Lastly, my nectarine paleta. I made sure to get a water based one because while the cream based ones are good, they melt faster and also...milk. Not my friend.
You can see the real bits of nectarine in there. This was such a refreshing treat.
Yay, the South Bay Drive In is now using their marquee to list films again. For the past year or so, it just had the swap meet info and a number to call for movie times, which was lame. This is how it should be. You drive by, wonder what movie is playing, and expect to read it. Glad it's back on there.
Later this same week, I was here in the evening with Bert after dropping off TC for a youth group event.
We chose two of the new flavors:
Peanut butter chocolate and coconut pineapple please.
Bert says they had to have used two molds for this. The inner core was pineapple, the outer layer was coconut. This was a great flavor combination. So creamy and fruity. Real milk be damned, we had to try these!
PB in the middle, chocolate on the outside.
I think the flat paleta is a better deal because it seems heavier than these longer and thinner paletas. Or maybe it really is about the same amount. I'll have to do more "research", ha ha.
The late Mr. Andrade's son was there that evening. Like his father, he was a very nice and friendly man. His mother was also there in the shop that evening. Even at 8:30 pm, they were still customers walking in, whole families, couples, even a grandma.

Well, I'll have to come back to try that Neapolitan soon! Maybe they'll have more flavors for our next visits...yes, plural, ha ha.
