Taking the same few snaps again for my return visit...

but this time, with TC and her friend Sherlock in tow...
We had our banh mi from K Sandwiches and our pastries from Pangea waiting to be enjoyed...

It was quite majestic seeing the billowing sails and the weightlessness of the gliders...

You could see La Jolla in the distance...

Unlike my first visit, the day was quite clear. No clouds at all!

Plus, people were actually paragliding!

Another view of the shaded area where you can enjoy your lunch - your own or one from the Cliff Hanger Cafe.

Up close and personal! The views from our table were great!

The girls were kind of curious to go down to where those people were, but I didn't want us to go there because the cliffs are unstable.

Can you see the glider in the distance?

We wanted to watch the gliders from another vantage point, so we walked around the parking lot to get to the other side. You can't go through the grass when instruction is taking place. Only pilots and students are allowed.

About ready to take off...

Black's Beach is below. No nekkid people there today.

This was really cool seeing the paragliders float through the air...

The instructor is in the back, the student in the front.

The landing...

And the collapse of the parachute!

We walked the long way around to get back to the car.

The girls had fun walking and balancing on the log perimeter the whole way back.
Who else went to the Torrey Pines Glider Port?
Dennis went here back in August 2008
Cathy went a few times and posted recently as well: "A snack with a view: Torrey Pines Glider Port" - June 2013
and my first visit back in March when I had lunch with Dennis and Cathy at Green Acre.
After about an hour of enjoying the views and our lunch and snacks, it was time to go and head back south. But before getting back home, they wanted to check out a newly opened place within the new Zion Market...our next stop!

I'd love to one day take a flight up in those paragliders!
It looks quite exhilarating, but I am a big chicken! You should go for it!
