As mentioned in my previous post, dinner was on the "fly" with Bert making the last minute decision for us to try this Italian place.
It would end up being next to the coffee place we'd visit the following morning before seeing the giant redwoods...
Our dinner destination tonight was Cucina Verona, located on a side street from the 1-freeway. This particular street had lots of cute little shops and eateries. Score for Bert.
We were highly entertained by this elderly jazz duo, a man on piano and a woman on upright bass! They were amazing and performed a wide repertoire of songs. The music made our meal here so much more memorable, as did the great service.

TC and I chose two pizzettas, the clam and artichoke heart and the Biano et Verdi (white and green), which had pistachios in it. Bert chose lasagna which turned out to be a hearty portion.
Our dinner looked and smelled so delicious.
I loved the fresh basil chifonade on the pesto/pistachio pizza.

The pesto/pistachio pizza with mozzarella cheese and bechamel sauce was one of the most unique pizzas we'd ever tried. Our server said it was fairly new on their menu and seemed happy that we liked it so much. I liked this pizza the best.
Everything was so fresh and wonderful. Our leftovers served as a mini breakfast the next day. I'm so glad that Bert chose this place. If we ever find our way back up here, we would gladly come again.
