We left early Pasadena early that morning so that TC and her friends would be able to make it to the concert later that afternoon...
Before heading down to San Diego, we made a short top at a local coffee place...
Jameson Brown is right in the middle of a neighborhood. They had winter drinks on the menu still. The place was packed too.
Their awesome red coffee roaster...
Pastries galore:
These looked interesting so we got two of them (one with potato, red chili and jack cheese and the other with just cheddar). I remember seeing plachinta (Romanian flatbread) earlier this year at Lemon Poppy Kitchen but we didn't order it. We wouldn't skip out on it this time.
This coffee place had a homey feel with lots of seating and even a fireplace.
Our drinks - Bert's Snowball (white chocolate and coconut coffee), TC's chai latte and my macchiato. Since it was to go, our drinks were in paper cups.
My drink wasn't all that. I actually had to add sugar and cream to mine, something I haven't done in a long long time. I've found with most places that do macchiatos right, it's smooth enough that I wouldn't have to do that. Their coffee tasted a bit burnt.
The plachintas were quite delicious. The potato with red chili and jack cheese filling was on the spicier side. It was served with a side of sour cream which helped quell the heat from the red chili.
The cheddar one was all right. I think it also had potatoes in it.
The soft flat bread was thin and pliable. I wonder if these could be made with meat. We only had a few bites preferring to save our appetite for later.
