Day 3 - Summer Road Trip - Goodbye Ocean Cove Lodge

It's the return of the summer road trip posts. While I still have 2014 posts on the qeue, I thought I'd finish some of last summer...

which brings us back to Day 3. Our view from our room before heading up to see the redwoods...

Our hotel was in the middle of nowhere on the coast, in the little town of Jenner. I wish we had ore time to explore the cove nearby (you had to have crossed the highway but we had a lot of road to cover so passed up on it)...

The grounds were pretty, with a forest as a backdrop and the ocean out in front. Their property also had lots of seating areas, room for kids (and pets) to run around and slides and swings (which we did try!).

This was pretty fun to slide down! TC and I also enjoyed their swings!

This was the  Coast Highway 1....little did we know that there would be dozens of twists and turns before we got up to the Avenue of the Giants.

Let's put it this way, thank goodness for Dramamine!

This was someone's video made last summer (you can mute it if the music bothers you)...

Our third day would bring us even further up north. Although breakfast was served in the main lobby,  with homemade muffins and pastries (made by the owner's wife), it was too sweet for me. I needed something more savory and was saving my appetite for another place up the coast...
