Her request was mariscos and while CV has lots of choices (many of the taco truck variety)...
we chose to go to a "sit down" place so we wouldn't be cold because of the recent crazy weather.

I hadn't been here in several years and noticed later (after comparing my older post with this one) that of course, the prices had risen. In fact, several items were $2 more than our visit four years ago. Inflation. We chose the medium sized octopus cocktail and a fish fillet with culichi sauce to share between us.

Chips with lime and house made salsa:

Consomme with rice and fish chunks. This was pretty good but I'm not a big soup person; I was saving my appetite for the fish filet.

Our octopus cocktail with fresh avocado on top. Delicious this was!

Yes, there is a fish filet buried under that awesome culichi sauce (roasted poblanos, garlic, onions, cream, onion, and probably chicken bouillon). It was served with rice, beans and a small salad.

I need to learn how to make this sauce so I can have it anytime on fish (or chicken for that matter!).
Previous visit to Hector's Mariscos:
April 2012 (this post links Cathy's visit to the Eastlake location)
Our next stop was for a chamango but where was the question...
