Sometime last year, TC and I were in the area and decided to stop by Phuong Trang...
I had to try those butter wings that Faye was talking about. The server told us it would take some time for the wings (about 20-25 minutes) which was fine since we weren't in a hurry. There were about eight meaty wings in there plus one puny one. The skin was crunchy and oh so good. Like when you bite into these, there is a satisfying crunch as your teeth break into the chicken skin...
We weren't too hungry so this is all we had - butter wings and fried egg rolls. I really like how they do it here because they use rice paper which puffs up and blisters when fried.
Yes...blistery roll wrapper. These are served mouth burning hot too so you need to wait between bites to let it cool down or douse it in the nuoc cham, ha ha.
We noticed that Ice Blast was gone! Oh no! Gina Hair was still there, but it had taken the place of the curiously named Hair Duck.
During this particular visit, I was with my sis and nephew #3 (her 2nd son and one whom we call TC's twin because when they were small, they were actually mistaken as twins by strangers and also because they are quite close). It was my sister's treat and you can see the feast that we enjoyed below.
She ordered the Beef with Lemon Grass and pepper.
My sis and I enjoyed this more than the kids.

Another item chosen by the sis, Ginger clams. We both love clams and we were the only ones really eating this as well, ha ha. This was so delicious. It seemed like this bowl was never ending. There were so many of our tasty bi-valve friends in there.
She also ordered the banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe with shrimp and pork). I dn't like this too much here. It wasn't as crisp as the version found at Pho Hiep Grille and Chatueau. Still, this was really her choice. The kids were more into their pho than anything we picked out.
We drove a few blocks down to give Angels & Hearts a try. I hadn't been there in awhile and I thought my sis and the kids would like it.

TC's strawberry snow ice with mochi pieces within and a flaky chocolate stick jabbed into it.
The nephew's crepe with a lychee snow ice, strawberries and that same flaky chocolate stick.
The kids are sugar fiends. They really enjoyed their crepes. I could barely even get through mine. I thought the mochi pieces were too big. Even though I'm not a big green tea fan, I got it for the sake of the blog, heh. The popping pearls were fun to eat (kind of reminds me of those big fish eggs, but better tasting).

It seems I only went to that crepes place twice (now three times)! It was so nice spending some time with my sis and Nephew #3 (aka TC's "twin"). We had so much leftovers from Phuong Trang and I'm sure they enjoyed it later that week.
