Heading down from Ventura, we made our way south to Oxnard.

There were a ton of strawberry stands and we decided on this one...
which had a strawberry flag flying proudly and big signs advertisting their main crop.

Seeing this made me nostalgic for the old strawberry fields in Chula Vista (which went out of business the Summer of 2013. Instead of nice elderly Mexican ladies, this stand had an older (well, not old old like Grandpa old but older than me) man working the booth. Every crate held giant, juicy, plump and fragrant strawberries.

We bought the 3-pack for 6, which was a steal!
Below, a variety of their chocolate dipped strawberries. These looked so good but we refrained and chose to get only the unadulterated fruit.

OMG...berries galore ((drool))...

We may have to come by here again (or maybe another stand so we can compare) when we our summer road trip...

The Lion King pose, but with strawberries instead of Simba.
Lovely strawberries...

Yes...

These strawberries were so much more superior than the crappy unripe ones that they sell in grocery stores.

Bobalu reminds me of Ricky Ricardo singing "Babalu" (hey, it sounds almost the same, ha ha):
Sadly, he was a philandering dick to his wife, Lucille Ball.
"Christine" by Siouxsie and the Banshees (1980). She was goth before goth went mainstream:
"Christine...the strawberry girl...Christine"

Our next stop would be at a family farm before heading over to Burbank for lunch.
