You're welcome...Yes, this is the newest location of the Mariscos Isaac taco truck which used to be located at the South Bay Lounge parking lot a few blocks west...
This is another place that I pass by every weekend and I thought it would be fun to give it a try with the group...
Side parking isn't too bad but there are a few spaces behind the liquor store. Did I mention how beautiful the day was yet? Well, it was. it was so warm and sunny, it felt like summer not fall. In fact, I wore a tank top, shorts and flip flops!

Their menu:

You order at the window and while you're waiting, they will give you a cup of consomme. Ask for it to be sure you will get one. My soup was scalding hot but also quite chunky with celery and onions. It was also quite salty to the point that I only took a few sips before calling it quits.

The street view: The next street after 19th is Saturn Blvd where if you make a right into the strip mall after the Catholic church, you will find Save a Lot Market, Oasis Ice Cream Parlor and in the lot across the street on the left is Victoria Tacos and Baja Oyster Bar. Yes, so many awesome places that are very close to each other.

Too salty for me:

We all tried something different. This was Jinxi and S's taco de marlyn (smoked marlin), which had a pretty strong flavor...

Jinxi and S, along with Mary all got the .99 fish tacos.

I wanted to give the truck's namesake a try, so behold, the Isaac, which was grilled shrimp with chipotle sauce...

((Yessssss))
This was the regular shrimp taco, a deal at $2, considering how full of shrimp this was. Very generous!

We all shared a bit of everything with each other. I have to say, I liked that gobernador (having had it before), but the chipotle sauce on my Isaac taco gave it a kick. That taco was a winner!
I noticed this sign on the truck and my mouth started to water. It was too late to order it (it cost $8 by the way) but I made a mental note to try this in the very near future...

I definitely want to try this! I've tried tostilocos before but I'm not a fan of the cueritos (pickled pig skin) so replacing it with seafood elevates this in my eyes, haha.
Here is my previous post on the Mariscos Isaac truck, but from their previous location:
October 2013, along with the reviews from that four lettered site
Mariscos Isaac taco truck (located at Bobar 2 Liquor store)
1777 Palm Ave (corner of Palm and 18th St.)
San Diego, CA 92154
Our third stop was literally up the street, past the $3 car wash place...

We passed this truck on our way to Save A Lot and next time will stop. The Tostimariscos will definitely be ordered; it sounds like a perfect food.

I wanted to get the tostimariscos too but figured we should try the cheaper stuff that time, haha.
Yeah, we will have 2 try it another time. It sounds intriguing.
