The kids had a busy morning/afternoon volunteering for a fundraiser at a fancy hotel. Although they were given a free catered lunch, we still wanted to treat them at the end of their day...

Tap Tap was on the way home so...
we made a stop here so they could enjoy some boba drinks and share a snack.

Both of them had boba; this was TC's milk tea (her friend had a mocha milk tea). It was fun listening to them recount their day and enduring the behavior some of the snooty and mean people they encountered at the venue. It turns out that a lot of them were really rich, snobby and quite condescending to the kids but the kids still smiled and thanked them. If you kill 'em with kindness, it only serves to underscore the jerkiness of others.

Their chicken katsu with rice and a sunnyside egg that they didn't feel like eating. For some reason, I was thinking that this would be served in a paper bag with sticks like many of their snacks. But since it was a combo, it was in a styrofoam clamshell. The sauce was not katsu sauce but ketchup. Hmmm, well, go figure.

Bert and I didn't get anything for ourselves since we had our own mini food crawl earlier that day.
