The float road test was conducted near the Phoenix Decorating Company's huge barn-like structure where the floats are stored...

It was neat hearing Cathy explain the different stages of the floats. This one had wire mesh and some parts were covered...
This other one had the skeletal structure of butterflies and what appears to be books...
Noah's Ark from the Lutheran Hour Ministries. The float was painted in sections so that the decorators will know what colors of what flowers or other dried items to glue on...
I liked that you could see the driver in this. The driver is in the back. The spotter is in the front.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier float sponsored by Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, another service organization.
A cake float celebrating the 100th anniversary of...something (not sure what)...
It was really neat seeing the first road test float for the 2015 Rose Parade service floats...
Here is a bench where some people will sit during the parade. The stick stand you see will also have people standing there. It reminds me of the Barbie doll stands but without the leg prongs, ha ha.
This is going to look really great once it's decorated with flowers...
There's the driver again, who can see since the float isnt covered up yet...
It's hard to see but there are you can see some numberical and alphabetical codes on the alpha numerical codes on this float...

This was the start of such a fun day! I am so glad you got to see the testing and all that I have tried to express in my posts. Your photos showing a different perspective are great.
Thanks again for this opportunity to see the 'behind the scenes' action. What a treat, even though it was EARLY, haha!!!!! But really, it was worth it! :)
