It's on Broadway right before the side street with Aqui es Texcoco and Asi es Jalisco. From the looks of this sign, it seems like there are a lot of businesses here, but...
it was a really sad and crappy looking area with empty storefronts and trash strewn about.

Not wanting to judge a book by it's cover, we gave this place a try, after all, there aren't too many Thai places in this part of Chula Vista (although there is Krua Thai just up the street, posted by Kirk last month; it was known as Thai Food Orange late last year).

We were the first customers of the day. Decor is not fancy but that's not a factor for me.

According to the lady who seated and served us, they opened on Valentine's Day this year. On their website, they indicated that moved from Texas with nine years in the restaurant business.

Their menu can also be seen online.

They had the usual suspects..

We were both given a small chilled salad topped with peanut dressing. I liked the carrot shreds and dressing.

This item was new to me, the Fried Corn Patties (4 pcs for $5.95), served with a sweet and sour sauce with cucumbers and shredded cabbage and carrots.

I really liked the crisp exterios and the creamy corn innards...

We saved one for Bert. TC thought they weren't "heavy" or greasy tasting. Bert liked the crunchy exterior as well.
The last time I was at a Thai place, KD ordered Massaman curry and I vowed to try it the next time. That time happened to be today. The curry was on the sweeter side, which I liked. I chose the very wimpy spice level of "2". I didn't want to, uh suffer the consequences later on.

There were five good sized shrimp in there along with potatoes, carrots and onions.

This was my first time getting this and I would probably try it again (if not here, then another Thai place). Diet be damned, I spooned the sauce over my rice and enjoyed it very much.
If you know TC's Thai food preference (notice that is singular), then you already know what this is.

She liked that it wasn't overly saucy or dry like at some places.
The owner by the way, was so very kind and friendly to us. She gave us this dessert consisting of tapioca balls, coconut milk and diced taro.

The dessert was warm (which I didn't like) and not to sweet. The tapioca balls reminded me of fish eggs, but of course didn't taste like fish eggs!

The lady said that TC and I looked like sisters and that I looked so young! Well now, I'll take THAT, ha ha! As I said earlier, she was quite nice and seemed genuinely interested about our opinion about her food. Service was efficient here and again, very friendly and welcoming.

The other Thai place down the street (that is another hole in the wall) is one which TC and I will visit sometime later this vacation...
