Mr. TJ's birthday lunch @ The Haven Pizzeria

La Ley, MFH and I met up with Mr. TJ this afternoon for some drinks and appetizers at his place in Talmadge before heading out to nearby Kensington for a late lunch...

It was convenient to come here since it's just a few minutes away from his house...

it was also an opportunity for the other three to try something new, as I had been here several times previously.

One new addition was this vivid art piece which was added a few months ago. I think I like it much better than their previous wall hanging.

Looks like the new art carried on to the other side as well.

Mr. TJ and I chose the pizzas...

The ones we selected were the PBTO and the Total Package...

We ended up getting served the Cortez (on the left) and the PBTO.

The Total Package has roasted brussel sprouts while this one had arugula and avocado. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she apologized and said they would make the new one right away and they would comp us the one served in error.

PBTO - Pesto, candied Bacon, Tomato, and caramelized Onion

Our "free" mistake, The Cortez - Bacon, Mozzarella, Gorgonzola (which I hate), and tomatoes topped with arugula and avocados.

The Total Package - Roasted garlic sauce, brussel sprouts, caramelized onions and mozzarella.

Of the three, I enjoyed the PBTO the best; I didn't like the Cortez since it had the dreaded Gorgonzola cheese. It was a bit too strong for me.

This was a nice little bit of trivial info...found in the BATHROOM!

Here are some cool pix of those tunnels although I'm not sure of the one with the "bride".

Everyone enjoyed the pizzas and the laid back ambiance here.

Previous visit to The Haven:
December 2013 with TC (which links the previous two visits)

I was so happy that Mr. TJ loved this place since he is pretty hard to please. His real birthday is in a couple of weeks but we moved up the celebration early since our schedules wouldn't match up prior to returning to work. It was nice seeing everyone again so soon after the last day (with the exception of MFH who is on a 'permanent vacation' as a retiree since last year; we are so envious of her!).

While walking to the Haven, I excitedly saw a new establishment open.  That place would be our dessert destination...

I really like the food here. Then there is great customer service and art! I like local businesses so much more than chains; thanks for posting on these.

Thank you Cathy. The food here is really good and the folks working here super nice. I like the location and that it's far from the hubbub of HIllcrest, Northpark, etc.
