It was for a fundraiser for the San Diego chapter of FANHS (Filipino American National Historical Society). Next year FANHS, SD will host the National Conference so funds needed to be raised...
The coupon states that 20% of the total bill goes to the organization. This location at Otay Ranch was the closest for us. Driving up to Fashion Valley was not an option, haha.

We placed our orders as well as one to go for Bert's mom whom Bert would be seeing later that night.

Warm sourdough bread with herbed olive oil. I'm glad it was not balsamic vinegar and that the bread was warm.

Bert's cranberry cooler and TC's lemonade. I used a different kind of filter when I took this shot, just playing around with my camera's settings.

Our entrees - two pizzas and a salad to share.

This was the roasted veggie salad - artichockes, red peppers, corn, and eggplant on top of greens with chopped avocado and sundried tomatoes. We forgot to get the dressing on the side (it was the dreaded balsamic). Despite the dressing being on it, it wasn't too bad. Lots of different flavors going on. There weren't as much roasted vegetabls as I thought.

This was the works pizza which pretty much had everything on it.

This was the White pizza which had ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses with garlic and spinach along with bacon (extra) on top. I liked this much better than the works.

For Bert's mom, chicken piccata to go.

It was a nice evening out enjoyed without big crowds. I hadn't had a pizza here in awhile. I still like the pizzas at Luigi's much better (crustwise). Service was good here too, our waitress was super cheerful. I was wondering how much of it was genuine, cynic that I am. But hey, we were able to participate in the fundraiser and hope that the goals are reached to make the conference successful next summer.
Previous visits to CPK:
Two in 2011 - visit 1 and visit 2
We would go to another FANHS, San Diego event the next day which was also a good excuse to try a new place (new to us, not "new" grand opening) to eat!
