Last month Bert had a "bromantic" evening out with Thor and Tatonka...
Their dinner destination? The new Buffalo Wild Wings in the Chula Vista mall...
None of them had ever been here before and were willing to give it a try.
They got two kinds of wings plust two appetizers.
One of their wings had Mild sauce, the other was Spicy Garlic.
Here is one of their appetizers, the Stuffed mushrooms. These were battered and fried and covered with cheese and some sort of bbq sauce.
These are their wings, which by the way, are BONELESS. Can you tell? The wings are battered and fried and coated with a "mild" sauce. Bert said there was a lot of batter which was crunchy at first, but after sitting for about an hour while they chatted, the sauce softened up the wings.
Another appetizer was something that Bert coulnd't remember even after we searched on their online menu. They appear to be Fries with bacon and fried "something" and salsa. Maybe this should be called a "stoner combo"? It looks like a total mess to me, a big ole' greasebomb.
Their other set of boneless wings were these, the Spicy Garlic covered wings.
The atmosphere and ambiance was loud. Bert could tell from the mostly fried menu items that it catered to the young adults. Did I say it was loud? Like "you have to shout to be heard" loud. The music they played also contributed to the frat boy atmosphere. Something with heavy beats. Bert's not sure of the genre. They also sing sing obnoxious songs for people's birthdays here. So scratch this place for a birthday meal, unless you're one of the types that basks in attention from random strangers.

The person who chose the place was Thor, out of curiosity. I don't think Bert, Tatonka or Thor will be going here again. They weren't really thrilled with their food and didn't like how loud it was. Man, that makes us sound old, doesn't it?
On a different note, there is a Project Pie set to open in the same shopping mall. Can't wait for that to open so we won't have to drive up to Hillcrest!

So that's where the BWW is. The food doesn't look all that great. Certainly wouldn't warranty a drive down just for this. But hey Bert got to spend some time with his bro-mans.
