Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

There was on last stop that was on our list since "we were in the area"...

I've heard so much about Jeni's Ice Cream so of course we had to try it...

It's on the corner of Southeast corner of Hillhurst and Clarissa Ave in the Los Feliz neighborhood in LA. It's a small shop with hardly any seating (save for some bench seating and a few stools along the wall).










It seems that every hipster store in LA is rocking cool tiles.

What to get...


They do have a fairly clean bathroom in here in case you need to use the facilities...

We each chose a scoop plus an extra flavor (making it FOUR) and shared it in one big cup which they garnished with ice cream waffle cone pieces.


Ndali Estate Vanilla (chosen by TC) and for me and Bert, Dark Chocolate Peppermint and Brown Butter Almond Brittle plus the Salted Peanut Butter with chocolate flecks.

Talk about rich and smooth! This ice cream was pricy but the quality was definitely there. Dreyer's ice cream this ain't.

I loved all of the flavors but liked the salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks the best!

This was a whirlwind day. Everything we needed to do on our agenda was pretty much crossed off. Jeni's was a last minute decision but one that I was glad we tried.  Traffic, as expected, sucked majorly on the way home but once we got past the 805/5 merge, all was well...
