Animals and ice cream at the Avila Valley Barn

We were tired from the beach and it was time to have some lunch...

as well as snacks. We went to a place nearby that was recommended by Astroboi...

Of course, if Astroboi liked it, it must be good, right? The Avila Valley Barn sells snacks, drinks, ice cream, fresh produce as well as local jams, preserves, etc.

Bert and I shared a scoop of blueberry cheesecake while TC had a scoop of the mango sorbet.

Sodas that we bought previously from the Rocket Fizz in SLO the day before.

Chips bought earlier from the Avila Beach market (expensive, yeesh).

Not seen, but eaten, crackers, sliced deli meats, cheese, apple slices and grapes.

From afar, kids enjoying a tractor ride through the fields.

They had so many animals here plus a petting zoo. One stupid girl was trying to put her hand through the fence to touch one of the horses; TC told her that she shouldn't do that and that she might get bitten but the girl gave TC a bad attitude. So TC figured, oh well, if she gets bitten, it's her fault. She actually did not snapped again so, there.  Of course, no parents around either.  Duh, there were signs everywhere NOT to poke or touch the animals.

Ha, this photo is from nearly two years ago. TC went through a blue hair phase. The dye faded from her being in the ocean and turned greenish.

Their produce was so fresh and beautiful...this is common in the Central Coast.

Our ice creams - the blueberry cheesecake and mango sorbet.

Now that I know how to make this myself  using only three main ingredients AND not using an ice cream maker, I'll never buy it again. Those homemade no churn ice cream posts are forthcoming.

Oh no, Children of the Corn:

"Maaaaalachi!!!!!!!!!"

Heh heh....

Holy shit, that's Linda Hamilton (aka Sarah Connor in the original "Terminator"; these movies came out around the same time, 1985)!

It's a neat little place, this Avila Valley Barn. Feel free to put it on silent  (like I did; annoying the music was).

We made our way down south to the cute town of Arroyo Vista and made sure to pass by an interesting landmark...
