but first, we stopped by here for some donuts of the potato persuasion...
hence the name, Spudnuts (and Bagels). That bubble font for their sign out was totally 70's!
Since this was summer 2014, the "cronut" phase was still going strong. I saw that they had some in their display case (but not on their menu board). They called their cronut version the "doughsant".
They had several flavors of "doughsants" and when I asked if they had blueberry, the woman said she ran out but she could make me a fresh one!

This was so nice of the lady to make a fresh one just forme. I liked how the blueberry filling was piped so neatly on top. It was even neat inside when I lifted the top half.
These cronuts or doughsants of whatever you call them taste so much better when they are fresh. The layers are so flaky and crisp and so buttery.

Damn! Foreigner AND Styx! And one of the Eagles too (Don Felder). I just noticed that Hunter Hayes is on there. I only know who he is because one of my oldest niece likes him (he is a Christian singer; which is also why I have no idea who he is because I listen to uh, pure devil music you know). Seriously, the random things that I retain in my head...

I've read about potato donuts (and Spudnuts in particular) and have always wanted to try one! Because helloooo, I love donuts. That cronut thing looks really good - how nice that it was made fresh! I feel like I saw there were Spudnuts in LA somewhere - so maybe I'll get to try them someday. They sound so good!

This was one of my favorite donut places we tried during that particular trip. If you find out where the spudnuts can be found in LA, a full report please! Or let's do a field trip, heh heh. Food road trip time!
Yesssss, I love foodie road trips! I'll have to investigate and see where it is in LA (and if it still exists - I hope so!).
