It's in the tiny lot with the 7-11, but we parked behind it on the downslope where you can see this sign (where incidentally, the second location of Industrial Grind Coffee)...
At the beginning of February, the donut shop's signage still wasn't out yet.
but that's it, on the corner. The have a simple menu. Donuts are normal prices. There is A LOT of PINK decor in here as well.
For our first visit, Bert and I selected a quartet which interestingly enough, was placed in plastic container. The donuts were stacked on top of each other (which I didn't like but didn't anticipate would be boxed up in this). Here they are before we dug in.
This was an cinnnamon crumb apple "filled" donut. Notice that 'filled' is in quotes. The girl told us that it was supposed to be filled but guess what...it wasn't.
Bert's choice, Maple old fashioned.
My choice, the Chocolate cruller - as light and fluffy as Mary's Donuts (which still hasn't moved over to it's newer location yet)
This was new for us, the Blueberry Crumb.
As you can see, the filling-less donut (boo). and the lovely blueberry crumb (they also had plain blueberry and a frosted one).
For our second visit (on our way home from our Pasadena trip earlier last month), we saw that they had a banner hanging on their east facing window.
They had their regular donuts plus some new ones we hadn't seen yet. Most had colorful toppings, like the cereal ones (I don't really like those actually).
Our quartet, which was in a box this time instead of the plastic clam shell. This is much better. No stacking on top of each other and more breathing room. Blueberry filled, strawberry frosted cruller (spelled as "curler" on our receipt which I found amusing), strawberry frosted with coconut, and strawberry frosted with sprinkles and heart candy (TC's choice).
Pink galore.
Kind of lopsided but I loved it.
Bert liked his strawberry frosted coconut donut very much.
TC thought this was just okay. I think after she had that Strawberry So Far donut at Donut Friend (post is forthcoming), all other strawberry donuts pale in comparison. I'm not sure if this was supposed to be heart shaped or not. More like not.
My Blueberry filled...
This one definitely had filling in there unlike the cinnamon apple from our first visit. I'm glad they switched to paper boxes. You would think they would cost less than the plastic containers too. Donuts breathe better in paper containers, if they last that long that is. The gals working here were so nice. A lady, who was a friend of the owners, encouraged us to come the following weekend for the grand opening. While we were there, there was a steady stream of customers, which was nice to see.

Donutopolis (According to Cathy, it was supposed to be named Crumbs but the name was most likely taken. I think Donutopolis sounds much better)

They've already had their Grand Opening (Feb 20th) and now have an actual sign out on the building (as seen by Cathy of mmm-yoso). I hope this shop does well; I just wish it was down in Chula Vista though!

I love the signage. I love that it isn’t even centered and kind of out of alignment. Ooo, the cruller looks tasty - even if it’s not really round, haha. The strawberry frosted one look good to me, too. But really, all cruller look good to me! Will have to go in for a visit soon!
There is an actual sign now on the store front, not a temporary banner.
Their crueller was so good - very light and airy. I could eat three of those easily, ha ha. Hopefully you can do a donut run here in the future (and go to the new location of Mary's as well).
