Arroyo Grande Bridge

Finally, we were here...

A small coastal town in San Luis Obispo County...Did you know this is the hometown of pretty boy Zac Efron?  Well, now you do! Onward...

across what we learned was a very historic bridge, the Aroyo Grande Bridge which was built in 1908 (more articles posted at the end regarding it's preservation).

The bridge was next to this park which ran parallel to the businesses in downtown Arroyo Grande.

The bridge itself is very short but is very district with its green metal supports (sorry, I don't know the technical term). In the background is an old brick building which houses the Arroyo Grande Historical Society.

We did explore downtown and had some dessert (post is next)...

Their choices are to rehabilitate the current bridge, or salvage and relocate the truss on a new bridge or do nothing, which means the bridge would eventually close due to deterioration. Currently, environmental studies are under development. I sincerely hope they can save this bridge from being torn down.
