It was to be expected since it seemed to be rush hour. In the distance, we would see the hill that has Grand View Park at the top...

This bakery was fairly new at the time and I was especially curious about their specialty pastry...
Bert parked several blocks away in a timed spot so I was in a bit of a rush to get there, select the pastries and then return. The girls working here didn't speak English all that well and I was peeved that they overcharged me for a few of the items and one item on my receipt was also something I didn't buy. I called them on it and one of them acted as if I was the one who screwed up and that this was bothersome to fix. Asides from the crappy customer service, the pastries I bought were quite good.

I got a pair of the original pineapple puff.

I also got a couple of the pineapple buns with butter. Gotta love the low prices here.

More baked goods, most sweet but a few savory (pork sung, green onions were fillings I remembered)...

Below, a hot dog filled bun, a smiley faced "Sun" cake (filled with maltose), and some sort of bun that looked two toned (I think the filling might have had almond).

The lovely pineapple puff with pats of cold butter inside.

These were the custard filled pineapple puffs. They were smaller than the butter filled buns.

The butter was not completely melted yet (this was taken while on my lap, ha ha).

The butter filled buns tasted as good as it looked. We inhaled these in no time at all.
