McConnell's Ice Creams and Yogurt on Mission

With a visit to the other location under our belt, I thought that we should at least visit the original location of McConnell's...

Dessert was on our minds (ok, MY mind)...

They have a very small parking lot which happened to be full so we made do with street parking, next to another location of Cajun Kitchen..

OMG, I haven't seen someone drape a sweater around their neck since the 80's. Hello...

Sorry, I'll stop being the fashion police for a few seconds. Let's go inside shall we?

There's limited eating inside as well as a few tables outside. This location does not offer mini flights like the other one, nor do they offer cookie ice cream sandwiches. No matter since the offerings here were just as good with flavors that would please a lot of palates.

Chocolate dipped waffle cones looked good but we opted for just a cup.

Yes. I'll take it all.

Wall of celebrities who have been here. I spy Drew Barrmore, Barbra Streisand, Jackson Browne, Bridge Fonda, Rob Lowe and even the late Paul Walker.

We chose one cup with four flavors, not realizing the flavors would be piled on top of each other. I thought, rather optimistically that the scoops would be in a bigger bowl or something.

The two flavors on top were: chocolate almond brittle and Eureka lemon and marionberry.

The other flavors underneath were mint chip (TC's choice) and Brazilian coffee.

Each and every flavor was so good and very intense. I did like the lemon/marionberry's brightness while Bert loved the chocolate almond brittle.

While we were enjoying our ice cream, a man pulled up in his Vespa which had what is called a "pooch pod" attached.  Inside were his two Jack Russell terriers. They waited patiently while their master went inside to get ice cream.

That's the life, eh. Being driven on a scooter in a pooch pod!

I've already linked this from my previous McConnell's post, but here is Josh from California Through My Lens' post on McConnell's once more (since he went to both locations).
