Andria's Seafood Restaurant and Market - Lunch Part 1

This morning we did a two-fer in terms of trying seafood restaurants.

Our shot was here, at Andria's Seafood Restaurant and Market...

They opened at 11 am and we were ready to give it a try...

It wasn't busy when we walked in but when we left a mere half hour later, it was getting packed.

Andria's has been at Ventura Harbor Village since 1982 and was named after the owner's daughter. The original location was in Santa Barbara. In 1977, it used to be just an abalone processing plant but morphed into a seafood distribution center. They added food in 1982 and have been here ever since.

Lots of good choices:

But we stuck with the basics. Consider this a precursor to our second lunch.  So, it was just a cup of clam chowder and a basket of their famous fish and chips.

The food here was great. The batter was light and crisp and the fish juicy and flaky.  The chowder was creamy and had many clam bits within. TC really enjoyed the chowder. We all liked the fish; the portions were meaty and not greasy at all.  Service was quick and they even had a super long condiments bar (tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, ketchup, and even pickles).

When we were in Santa Barbara, we were recommended to try Brophy Bros. but didn't get the chance to. But this time, we tried the Ventura location especially since it was right across the way from Andria's. Lunch Part 2 is next.
