This local news video was taken the day of our visit (the fire started on June 15th)
When we left Goleta the other day, little did we know that a fire would spread dangerously, one that would cause major damage and spend one week burning.
Although the Sherpa Fire was far from where we were staying, the effects from the smoke during sunset were noticeable. Here are the views from the second floor of our motel:
