Arizmendi Bakery, a co-op serving delicious breads and pastries.

We noticed the new parklet in front...
The previous year I bought a few loaves of their bread as gifts for my parents and remembered how much my dad liked their sourdough loaf.

I got what I bought before, the onion and poppyseed flecked bialy (seen below).

They have great flavor combos for their scones as well as a variety of savory topped foccaccia.

We kept it simple - the bialy and a chocolate croissant with the most amazing crisp and buttery layers ever.

The dough for this bialy had a nice bit of "chew" to it, but not overly so. The onion had some char but had a nice smokiness to it. This was a great little snack to nibble on during our drive.

As we drove down Irving, I recognized Peasant Pies (which we visited in Summer 2014).

Our next stop was near this row of buildings. The blue one with the white trip was quite striking. Remember this for a later post.

Around the corner was this abandoned old brick building.

I wonder what it was in its past life?
Previous visit to Arizmendi Bakery:
July 2014
Plus a more recent visit to the San Rafael location, during our Spring Break trip this year:
June 2016
One more stop and then we would be on our way to the Central Coast...
