Caren from the Velveteria gave us a few recommendations we planned to follow up on such as this boba place located at this shopping plaza...
called the Far East Plaza, which houses many eateries and various businesses.

The first stop was Chego!, an eatery owned by chef Roy Choi (of Kogi BBQ fame); this is his first sit down restaurant. We'd already eaten, but after looking at the menu, was kind of glad we did not eat here. I really don't like kimchi flavored stuff and most of the rice bowls he offered had that flavor profile.

I was only here for one thing, their notorious Sriracha candy bar.
I was quite surprised to see a Philippine barrel man (the deluxe version too since the arms also extend!) at their cash register! I even asked the girl if I could lift it!!!

This is a very hipster eatery...

The Sriracha bar, which is $4, is the invention of Chego's pastry chef Beth Kellerhals, who introduced it under her own brand, Double Chin Desserts.

The bottom layer is crisped rice topped with a layer of Sriracha spiked caramel and peanuts and covered in dark chocolate.

It reminded me of a souped up Baby Ruth bar because of the peanuts. We couldn't taste the spice at first, but it does sneak up on you later (and I don't mean "toilet-wise"). Bert really liked the Sriracha's delayed flavor. I liked the dark chocolate covering and the texture provided by the crispy rice. We had a few bites outside but saved the rest to savor for later.

We would next go to another place recommended by Caren just a few steps away...

OMG - that Sriracha Bar looks so good! It almost looks like a suped up Crunch bar to me. I wonder if it's easy to possibly replicate at home? That would be a great dessert to serve with coffee I think.
Hi Faye - it was all right, actually1 I bet it could probably be made at home. I don't know if it would be good with coffee because of the Sriracha flavors in the dessert. :(
