to Filter Coffeehouse's new (to me) location....
July is Pride Month and all of the banner in Hillcrest reflected that...

I hadn't been in this area in quite awhile so, like Rumplestiltskin upon awakening from his slumber, didn't realize that Filter was here. The last time I saw Filter was in North Park when it used to be located a few doors away from Sicilian Thing Pizza on 30th. It's quite spacious and there's tons of seating. Many of the tables and chairs were occupied and I didn't take as many snaps as I wanted because of that. I got my "usual" which is iced mocha while Dennis got a blood orange tea (or was it a soda?).

I thought the rainbow bike rack was quite clever...

Very refreshing!

For old time's sake, here is a photo of the mural at the previous Filter which is now Old Hickory (a hipster coffee/beer place).

That wall is now painted over. :(
Here are some cool Polaroidesque photos from a local blogger's post on Filter:

There is no website, but here is their FB page
I didn't know the next time I would be in this area, hence my curiosity and visit. One thing I saw that caught my eye was a steamer trunk with a Union Jack print serving as a coffee table. TC would have liked seeing that. Work started the day before so it was back to the grind. Although my summer vacation just ended, I am already thinking and planning for Fall Break at the end of September!!!
