although we've been together much longer...
Happy 19th Anniversary to my dear husband Bert...

It doesn't seem that long ago that we walked down the aisle in front of our family and friends...
He's my best friend and the best husband and father I could ever ask for...

Since Bert is a math geek (and I say that in the best possible way), here are some cool facts about the number 19:
19 is a prime number.
19 has a unique representation as a sum of three squares:
Correction by Bert:
This second line above should read:
19 = 1^2 + 3^2 + 3^2
which is
19 = 1 + 9 + 9The "^" (caret) symbol used to indicate an exponential number was missing.
(I have to admit I cut and pasted the math facts from some math website so I didn't know! The equation was really bugging him)
19 is the largest prime number that is a palindrome in Roman numerals (XIX).

Because I'm a sucker for pop culture and music, no wedding anniversary post would be complete without featuring some musical references, so here are a few featuring the number 19. I know there are a few more songs out there, but I intensely dislike country and folk music, so I shan't include those, eh!:
"19" by Paul Hardcastle, in which the number 19 refers to the average age of the Vietnam soldier:
This song came out when we were in high school 1985! We're old, ha ha!
"Hey Nineteen" by Steely Dan from their album "Gaucho" (1980), which also featured "Babylon Sisters":
"Hey Nineteen" also featured Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers singing backup...
"19" by Phil Lynott, the lead singer of Irish rock band Thin Lizzy:
Apparently this was his last song and video before he died of heart failure and pneumonia brought on by sepsis (compounded by his heroin addiction).
"Nineteen Forever" by Joe Jackson
This is one of his more recent songs (and by recent, I mean 1989!). Loved him in "Look Sharp" and "Is She Really Going Out with Him?"...
Here's the Bo Diddly influenced "19th Nervous Breakdown" by the Rolling Stones, featuring a very very young Mick Jagger and Keith Richards!
Gawd! Listen to all that high pitched screaming! Along with the Beatles, the Stones were a precursor to the relativley insipid boy bands New Kids on the Block, 'N Sync and the more recent One Direction (stick a fork in 'em 'cause they're DONE!)! At least the Stones were real musicians and are still performing too. Mick Jagger kinda does look like Harry Styles , ha ha.
Here's last year's post:
2013 - 18 Years
To my good friend C of Life on Manitoulin, along with S and any other Canadian readers out there...

Happy Canada Day!

Happy 19th Anniversary Dear!
Ahhh... OK, I now understand the math statement you included above about 19 being the sum of squares. The equation should read:
19 = 1^2 + 3^2 + 3^2
which is
19 = 1 + 9 + 9
The "^" (carat) symbol used to indicate an exponential number was missing.
Love,
Your Math Geek
Sorry, the word is "caret" (not "carat").
Kirbie, Jinxi and Mary - Thanks so much! :) We had a fun day!
Bert - Thank you for the corrections! :)
Happy Anniversary CC & Bert :) Here's to many more happy years ahead...
Thank you Faye! :)
