Coffee Fix - Return to Cafe Moto, a visit to Donny's Cafe & back to Better Buzz Drive Thru

Ever since I had that iced coffee from Cafe Moto, I've been wanting it again...

Bert and I were out and about very early one weekend after having dropped off TC for a dance related event...

We were on our way up to Mira Mesa and wanted to get in our caffeine fix, so Cafe Moto it was where I had the Sweetie V12 Towered Coffee once again

It wasn't unmixed like the last time where the cream slowly seeped down the dark sweet coffee. In any case, it tasted just as good as I remembered it.

Another time during my vacation, I was out early after an appointment. I thought I'd check out this place on Bonita Road since it was on my way home. This mission looking building used to be Mission Cyclery but now it is called Performance Bicycle. It's right across the street from Glen Abbey Mortuary and also right next door to Kaiser Hospital. The cyclery has a small coffee shop called Donny's Cafe that I never knew about. Apparently it is quite popular with the early morning crowd and of course, cyclists. In addition to coffee and smoothie drinks, they also offer pastries and breakfast bagels. It is cozy inside and also filled with local artists' work.

There is even a covered patio to enjoy your drinks and/or pastries.

My blended mocha which I enjoyed very much...

The most recent coffee run was a few days ago. Bert and I had just attended the memorial service for Patricia Justiniani McReynolds and the Better Buzz drive thru was just down the hill.

Bert and I shared the iced mint mojito (it doesn't come blended).

Bert really liked this because he could really taste the fresh mint in there. Unlike the version from Philz Coffee in Berkeley, the mint mojito here does not dump in the mint leaves.  Bert liked it better this way because he felt that there was too much of the greenery in the mint mojito and not enough coffee. It may look prettier with the leaves, but Bert would rather have more coffee than leaves taking up space.

Here's my first one, which looked A LOT lighter than the one we got today:

Both tasted just as good but I like it less milky.

Bert was glad he was able to try San Diego's version of the Iced Mint Mojito Coffee...He ended up drinking most of it since I wanted to be able to get enough rest for the next day.
