We were a bit hungry again so we ventured into the Convoy area. There's always something good in Nijiya's deli section...
where we found that the Sushi was on sale. Hmmm...It was a Monday. I kept thinking about Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential" ad how fish and seafood is always marked down on Mondays so restaurants could get rid of their old stuff. Hmmm, well, we took our chances!

We got a seafood kakiage, seaweek salad, a Japanese soda and an assortment of sushi.

I didn't keel over that day and I'm still here so I guess it's safe to say that the fish/seafood in the sushi was not spoiled. We sat outside in the big tables and enjoyed a few pieces before heading home.
But first, we walked over to the next strip mall to check out a new Vietnamese bakery.

They seemed to have a lot of fancy cakes and other sweet desserts plus candy. I saw the macarons that Kirk was talking about but balked a bit at the price. They were $2.50 each. Shite. I splurged on just one, the black sesame flavor. I got TC the lemon Petit Four (($1.25).

The postcard is old (the grand opening was nearly two months ago)...

This was the perfect size for just a little taste. My black sesame macaron was nothing great. I don't know how fresh it was since it was refrigerated. It was not pleasant biting into this while it was still on the firmer side. The black sesame flavor was there but I didn't like the texture and at $2.50 each, is a bit of a rip off.

The guy working the counter was super nice and enthusiastic though.

Who else went to V French Bakery?
Kirk from mmm-yoso went here mid-June 2014 to try their sandwiches.

Aww, the lemon petit four is so cute! Was it very lemon-y? That is a lot to pay for a macaron, phew! It should have been amazing for that price. Too bad.
Mary - it was so cute, but not $1.25 cute. Fk their macaron prices too. $2.5 is a rip off. I'd understand if it was better quality and maybe even bigger.
