Au Coeur de Paris, the new location

Just a few minutes away from the Mall of Fortune was the newest location of a Vietnamese French Bakery...

I didn't even know they had a new location so of course, we just had to stop by before making the drive back to good ole San Diego...

Au Coeur de Paris is located in a stripmall in a more busy part of town. The previous location is really random and the stripmall a little more rundown looking. This was a bit on the "newer" side. We happened to catch them right before closing. The lady was putting things away but when she saw us, she said she would be able to ring us up. I only came there for a couple of things, the pate chaud and the jesuite pastry. They were out of the first so Cathy and I both got the last few jesuite pastries.

The jesuite is not something we see everyday here in San Diego. I really like the crisp pastry with the sugar almond topping as well as the rich almond filling. Bert really enjoyed this with his coffee the next morning.

While stuck in traffic, I snapped this shot of an "orange" on a freeway wall while passing through the city of Orange (forgot which freeway). Interesting and colorful graffiti was there as well...

Using the HOV lane!

Passing by the Del Mar San Diego Fair! This was the first weekend of the Fab Fair!

It was such a long, but fun and productive day!!! We visited so many places, but familiar and new. We also sampled lots of goodies and brought home awesome leftovers for our husbands (+ TC ).

Previous visit to Au Coeur de Paris (the Edinger location)
July 2013 - I was not impressed by their macarons which were inconsistent in shape, size, and texture as well as weirdly colored (Brown for passionfruit and purple for hazelnut? not very appealing)...
