If you want to get technical, at 4:33 pm she will be exactly 15 years old...
My dad was kind enough to drop off a few food gifts...this birthday cake from Red Ribbon Bakery (complete with candles)...

and a pianono cake (Filipino jelly roll), also from the same bakery.

Because it's a birthday, my mom made her pancit bihon (noodles = long life) transported in this lovely ice cream bucket. Yes, that's a Filipino grandma for you.

Earlier today, I gave TC a couple of LP's she'd been eyeing for the past few months. Emily's Army is a pop punk band based out of Oakland (one of the members is the son of Greenday's Joey Armstrong); the other band is Basement, a British band that she's really been into lately. In fact her first LP that she bought was by Basement. I also got her a Smiths t-shirt featuring the album cover of their second album, "Meat is Murder" (1985).

Bert will be giving her gift later today after they come home from her tennis match at school. I don't want to list it in the off chance that she reads this post (most likely not but I don't want to ruin anything for her).
Emily's Army - "Lost at 17" LP:
Basement - "I Wish I Could Stay Here" LP:
The Smiths - "Meat is Murder":
It's neat for me to see how she's evolved over the years, not just in appearance but with her musical tastes. She's fortunate that I'm pretty easy when it comes to music. As she has learned from playing iPod roulette with me and hearing me spout trivia about the songs/bands on my playists, I've aso learned about a lot of different bands and musical genres from her. I was young once and I get it. All I have to say is that these bands are a huge step up from Justin Bieber and One Direction!
TC's past bdays:
2014 - Fourteen
2013 - The Big One Three for TC
2012 - One dozen down
2011 - Eleven is one louder
2010 - 10
2009 - 9
2008 - This year is missing but we did celebrate it
2007 - Getting Older
I can't believe that TC's almost halfway through her teen years. Pretty soon she'll be wanting to get her driver's permit (uh....not ready for THAT yet!). I hope that TC continues to do well in all of her endeavors, whether it is school, extracurricular activities (sports and dance) and makes good decisions. I know that there will be bumps along the path, but that's how you learn in life right? Happy Birthday to my lovely, quirky, and thoughtful daughter.
