Return to Manna Restaurant

Better priced than Denny's and Aunt Emma's is this place...

Manna on the corner of F St. and Broadway which was our recent breakfast destination this weekend...

This time Bert was with us...

The young lady working there remembered (or seemed to) me and TC and welcomed us warmly. "It's so nice to see you again!"...

Our breakfast...I couldn't resist ordering the chicken fried stea again.

TC kept it simple - hash browns with sunny side up eggs and toast. She claims they are among her favorite hash browns she's had. She likes the crispness and the quantity as well.

Bert had the Special painted on the front window - This, my friends, was only $3.99 - 2 pancakes, two eggs (prepared the way you want it) and either two sausage patties or two slices of bacon. The pancakes were pretty big and slathered with whipped butter and a side of maple syrup. They were also quite light and fluffy.

We were seated in the same booth as before. This time I sat on the other side, with a good view of Cali Baguette on the other side on the street.

We were all pretty happy with our breakfast. I couldn't quite finish mine but the leftovers were enjoyed later that day.

The prices are decent here. They aren't dirt cheap but they aren't hipster expensive either. The server, like last time, was super nice and the Chinese gentleman who owns the place was also quite nice. He seemed to know his regulars and would engage in conversation with them.  TC already wants to go back for the hash browns but also for the Chinese food (which is NOT served on the weekends).

This is a great little place in a strip mall that has interesting businesses...all very local and good. I'm happy we just happened to notice it one day because we got stopped at the traffic signal.
