Return to Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes

With nostalgic candies and interestingly flavored sodas from Galco's in the trunk, we finally made our way to the outer edges of Chinatown known as the North Industrial District...

I liked this place so much last time and was happy to be there again so soon...

The smell of the freshly made kanom krok (coconut cakes) filled the air...

Last time we got these sweet snacks that they called "Thai Tacos". I won't make that mistake again.  Instead, we got one of the tiny empanada looking things under the cover. The man said they were "curry puffs". Also on the counter were various sweet and savory bagged buns.

Our post second breakfast snack - Issan sausage, kanom krok and one curry puff.

I loved the crisp exterior and the fragrant sausage filling...

We both loved the flaky crust of this "puff"...

The filling was a spiced chicken and potato mixture. It was the perfect size for our snack. I would have been happy eating the crust alone, ha ha.

More of those tabloid magazines:

Next time (and there will definitely be one!) we will have to try the bbq skewers. I know that Cathy took home  a container of papaya salad.

Mae Ting was there once again and gave us free waters, which is so very nice and hospitable of her.

The remainder of our snacks went straight into the cooler in Cathy's trunk. We still had other places to check out!

Our next stop would be next door at...yes, the Thai Costco!

Mae Ting's is such a great find! Yes, I got The Mister to drive North on a non- float road test day, so he and I could 're-enact' this fun road trip. There is now a large water jug and foam cups for the free water.
