Paso Robles would be our next stop...

We liked the license plate, which matched the truck's cargo!
Having all of these little stops was getting to be quite fun. It was nice not being on a tight time frame and taking the time to do a little bit of sightseeing...
A sign featuring the Acorn Building in downtown Paso Robles greeted us...

This place would be my caffeine fix. Bert already had his earlier at Starbucks in Tustin. The cool blast of the A/C felt so good as it was already quite warm out. The girls working here were really nice and friendly. The coffee shop wasn't crowded during our visit. While the pastries in their display cases looked tempting, I refrained because I knew we would be going to a few other places that day that would satisfy our sweet toofs.

My blended iced mocha...

This is pretty much my go-to drink. A funny thing about this drink. I usually give a "fake" but easy to pronounce name when asked because my real name is almost always mangled. I have to spell it out and even this, it is still spelled wrong. Very wrong. I was actually truthful that day and gave her my name. She didn't ask me to spell it and instead took "creative license" when I saw my "name" scrawled on the cup (not shown). It was the first time I'd seen it like that and I thought it was hilarious.

Around the corner was the second location of a very popular cookie store which originated in Cayucos, our summer destination...

Looks like a really cute shop! Yeah, no one mangles my first name but everyone (who doesn't know French, at least) mangles my last name. I just answer to whatever they say and they almost always sheepishly ask if it was correct. haha! I'm going to start looking for places with cold brew coffee, my new favorite!
This was a nice little stop for us. Quiet, A/C, good coffee...
Ha! you are now hooked on cold brew!!!! try Mostra's - it's at Blush. It comes bottled. Cafe Moto also has cold brew.
I am hooked, I love it! I made my own last week using some whatever brand coffee, but I think I can do better. I'll check those two out, thanks for the tip!
how did you make it? did you have one of those fancy coffee makers?
I used this as my guide: http://drinks.seriouseats.com/2012/04/best-way-to-make-cold-brew-coffee-iced-coffee-technique-tips.html
Basically just put the coffee into cheesecloth and tied it and put it into water and left it on the counter overnight, then strained it (with either coffee either or more cheesecloth, preferably filter). Really easy :)
I meant coffee filter, haha.
Cool thanks! I may have to try this one day! I actually have cheesecloth too!
