So our marriage is "old enough to drink" now, ha ha....
But really, two decades plus a year is a long time. Throw in the ten years we were together before we got married and yeah, there you go. More than half of our lives we have been together and nothing makes me happier than being with my husband and our daughter. TC will turn sixteen this year; we always joke that it's easy to figure out her age since she was born in the year 2000. Last year we were on a road trip in Northern California for our anniversary. This year, we stayed local.
This is just the highlights post. Full fledged posts to follow...
First of all, breakfast was in OB. Bert wanted to go to the same place we went for my birthday earlier this year but we both had a brain fart and walked into what we realized was the wrong place, but not to worry. This old school diner place was just as good (gold veined mirror tiles, blue Naugahyde chairs, floral carpet and all)...

A short walk to the coffee shop down the street led us to this cool grouping of plants in unconventional planters (bathtubs anyone?)...

My macchiato proper...

View from the OB Pier - it was nice and overcast the majority of the morning...

Even the Walking on Water Cafe (W.O.W. Cafe) sign got repainted for the upcoming July 4th festivities...

Sunset Cliffs...

Plus the lovely view of downtown San Diego and Coronado from our table in Harbor Island..

The sun was already out by the early afternoon...

We are lucky to live in such a beautiful city and even luckier to have spent such a nice day together.
