we drove onwards to Oregon...

passing through the tree lined highway...
At times, it would be overcast; they weren't kidding when they said it was much cooler up North...But then, the sun would peek through every now and then.

Sadly, the Rowdy Creek Fish Hatchery was only open until 4 pm and it was already after 4.

We finally got to the Oregon/California border, which of course, warranted a photo op.

There was a clam place we wanted to check out in Brookings, the closest city to the OR/CA border.

We saw a lot of signs for TNT (July 4th was coming up you konw) and fireworks are definitely legal up here.
This "ship" off the side of the road..we saw on our way back. This is the "gift shop" (which wasn't open) for the Ship Ashore Motel (actual motel is actually west of this by the water).

It looks run down and dilapidated. The website depicts this as shiny and new looking. It must be an super old photo or something.

These photos were taken on our way down after our brief foray into Oregon. If we had more time, we would have driven up to Canada, but no. It was just to Brookings. Those posts coming up next.
