The Port of Brookings Harbor was our destination with at least two places we wanted to try...

This was the first and we couldn't pass up a place named The Hungry Clam...
Port of Brookings Harbor is the busiest recreational port on the Oregon coast (read more about their history here). In the harbor, there are some offices as well as retail shops. At the Hungry Clam, there were tables in front and seating inside. No frills. They do have burgers and chicken here but mainly the star was fried seafood featuring clams. That's it.

This ended up being our early dinner. When we checked into our motel later on, we were too tired to even go out for dinner and were still full from our day's travels.
If you wanted your food grilled instead of fried, that was also an option.

Condiments:

We shared a bowl of clam chowder which had a decent amount of clams and chopped potatoes (more clams, so yay).

It was served fresh and hot and was very creamy with a mild smokiness.
We also shared the fried clamstrips combo (with fries and potato salad).

The fried clams were pretty meaty and fun to eat with a mixture of ketchup and tartar sauce. Health food this ain't but we had to try some sort of fried clams when here. It wasn't busy when we went but we saw several local families enjoying their combos.
Before we go, here's a few pix of the Port of Brookings Harbor:

The tables were where we enjoyed our candy and ice cream later...
