We'd been on this pier before from our summer trip two years ago, but we wanted to get some morning exercise in...
while on the pier, would could see the tiny cross on the hill (hard to see in this pic) where we were the previous day enjoying the opposite view of the bay.

As mentioned in the previous post, our plans were ((gasp)), "up in the air" so we made our plans on the fly. Since we were in the area, we checked out Ventura's version of Seaport Village, which was Harbor Village. It was still early enough that no crowds were there. Plus, they had a penny machine by their carousel (TC collects those souvenir pennies during our road trips and yes, they have an actual website that shows all of the locations in California).

We ate at TWO separate restaurants, each across from each other...Not full meals all right, so don't judge.

In nearby Oxnard, TC wanted to meet up with a friend's friend at a local establishment. Can you guess what kind of drinks they had here (hint below). This type of place is like a beacon to millenials. It's their version of a meeting place, I suppose.

Before leaving Oxnard, we paid a revisit to a nearby strawberry stand (only $6 for this)...

We spent the rest of the afternoon walking on the western end of downtown, noticing that Ventura had its own Moreton Bay Fig tree as well (located in Plaza Park). Unlike the tree in San Diego's Balboa Park or the one in Santa Barbara, this one is not fenced off (yet). This tree is taller but the branches are not as spread out as the other two trees mentioned.

Dinner was at a local eatery serving mostly healthy food (nothing fried) and we had family movie night featuring, "Straight Outta Compton". Yes, indeed. Family movie fare.
Tomorrow was our last day back to home sweet home!
